Elizabeth Hornbeck (PhD, University of California, Santa Barbara) is Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Art History and Archaeology and the Program in Film Studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She received her PhD in 2002 with an emphasis on architectural history. She travelled to Hyderabad and Bangalore, India, in 2007 as part of the University of Missouri Global Scholars program, with five other faculty and staff from the University, plus faculty from American colleges and universities. In 2011 she spent four weeks in Delhi as part of a Summer Institute sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the Community College Humanities Association (CCHA). In 2013 she participated in a three-week course sponsored by the Asian Studies Development Program (ASDP) called “Infusing Chinese and Japanese Religion, Art and Politics into the Undergraduate Curriculum,” held at the East West Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
